ICCF Congress success

E-mail Print

We have received positive feedback on the recent ICCF Congress in Leeds from several delegates. To quote just one example, ICCF President Eric Ruch wrote:

"I would also like to thank the BFCC and the team that has prepared the Congress for their dedicated work that made this Congress very successful. Even the English weather was wonderful, and having a beer outside on a sunny terrace made me feel I was on the French Riviera rather than in Yorkshire!"

BFCC would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the organisation and running of the Congress. The exceptional hard work and dedication of Andrew Dearnley and Neil Limbert was recognised on Saturday when the BFCC Executive Committee awarded them both the title of Life Vice-President.

Congratulations to Ian Pheby, who has received an English Chess Federation President's Award for his work for chess over the last 40 years. In addition to his work for OTB chess, Ian does a lot of valuable work for BFCC as Games Archivist and Executive Committee member and for ICCF. He played an important role as a member of the  organising committee for the 2009 ICCF Congress in Leeds.
