The Correspondence Chess Place
Review by Michael Blake
The Correspondence Chess Place is a portal to the wonderful world of high class chess, comment and news. I have been a regular visitor since 1996 and am always finding something new to entertain and intrigue me.
The site was originally conceived by Senior International Master John Knudsen, who like many players learned the moves of chess during the 1972 match between Fischer and Spassky. John became an International Master in 2001 and a Senior International Master (SIM) in 2002, he received that title at the 2003 ICCF Congress.
This site is now a fantastic resource for all players, in 1999 CorrespondenceChess.com became one of the first web sites to receive the "Friend of ICCF" award. This award is given by the International Correspondence Chess Federation for service to the international correspondence chess community.
In addition to various articles covering John Knudsen's activities, the site hosts some very powerful domains in their own right. One of my favourites is The Campbell Report which will feature in its' own right another time. Other sites include Grandmaster Palciauskas, Ralph Marconi and the famous TCCMB, a lively forum that has served the correspondence chess fraternity for several years.
In addiiton to providing an excellent resource for all players, the site also boasts its own team in the ICCF Champions League and were the driving force behind the idea of the Team Logos, an idea which has led to some quite interesting designs!
Correspondence Chess.com is without doubt an excellent site worth frequently visiting, once there you will have a great time and find a wealth of stimulating information. I highly recommend this site and hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
