British Correspondence Chess Championship
The British Correspondence Chess Championship has been in existence for more than 80 years and is an annual tournament to decide the British Champion.
At the BFCC Executive Committee meeting it was decided that starting from the 15th October 2003, the BCCC will revert to a one year cycle. The time limit will be 20 days for each 10 moves, with the option of 40 days for each 10 moves if both players agree to play by e-mail.
Applications for entry to the tournament, together with the appropriate fee, should be sent to the Tournament Director Tournament Director and must be received by September 1st. The entry fee is £10.00 for all sections. Please make cheques payable to 'BFCC'.
The events is an annual tournament commencing on October 15th each year, with one Championship Section of eleven players, six Candidate Sections of nine players and Reserve Sections of nine players. The players play simultaneously one game against each of the others in the same section. The entry fees and prizes are available here:
Entry to a Reserve Section is gained through the BFCC or any one of its member organisations and the closing date for this is September 1st. Competitors who finish in the first four places of each Reserve Section qualify to enter a Candidates Section of the next tournament, but only the winner of each Candidate Section is eligible to enter the next Championship Section.
