The 2011-12 BLCCC  started on 15 October with Toni Halliwell of Keighley defending her title against Valerie Craven of Leeds and Stephanie Lawrence of Cheslyn Hay (2 games against each opponent). Toni Halliwell has taken an early lead by beating Valerie Craven with black and drawing with white. Toni Halliwell has beaten Stephanie Lawrence with black. Toni Halliwell has gone on to beat Stephanie Lawrence with white to retain her title on 3.5/4. Congratulations! Valerie Craven has clinched 2nd prize by beating Stephanie Lawrence with black.Valerie Craven has completed the tournament by beating Stephanie Lawrence with white. Final Scores: Halliwell 3.5, Craven 2.5, Lawrence 0. Entries for the 2012-13 BLCCC should reach Keith Escott, the tournament director, by 30 September 2012 (entry fee £7; please make cheques payable to BFCC). Entries have already been received from Valerie Craven and Catherine Hiley of Rugeley. Candidate sections will be organised if entries permit. Play is by post unless both players agree to play by email, which is the most popular method nowadays.
